The Caférova Brewing Guide
Great coffee starts with great beans — but how you brew matters just as much.
Drip Coffee Maker
• Ratio: 1:16 (1g coffee to 16g water)
• Grind: Medium
• Water temp: 195–205°F
• Time: 4–5 minutes
• Tip: Use filtered water for the cleanest flavor
French Press
• Ratio: 1:15
• Grind: Coarse
• Water temp: 200°F
• Time: 4 minutes
• Tip: Stir once after pouring water, then let it steep undisturbed
Pour-Over (V60 / Chemex)
• Ratio: 1:17
• Grind: Medium-fine
• Water temp: 200–205°F
• Time: 2.5–3.5 minutes
• Tip: Bloom for 30 seconds with twice the coffee weight in water
Espresso
• Ratio: 1:2 (18g in, 36g out)
• Grind: Fine
• Water temp: 200°F
• Time: 25–30 seconds
• Tip: Use freshly roasted beans within 2–4 weeks of roast date
Cold Brew
• Ratio: 1:8
• Grind: Coarse
• Water: Room temperature or cold
• Time: 12–24 hours
• Tip: Strain through a fine mesh filter or cheesecloth
Pro Tips
• Store beans in an airtight container away from light and heat
• Grind just before brewing for maximum freshness
• Use a scale — eyeballing leads to inconsistent cups
• Experiment — ratios and times are starting points, not rules
Happy brewing.
